Mud 'Tripped Up Tango' Orange Nail Polish Swatch and Review
Hello everyone! I'm back today with a swatch and review! Also, it's a brand that I haven't tried before; Mud. Mud, the name makes me think of a bunch of really cute piglets rolling around in mud! Anyway, this polish doesn't and this brand doesn't have anything to do with piglets (although, they should make a polish called Piglet that has a piglet on the bottle, that would be adorable), but it is a very affordable brand.
First of all; colour! I don't know if you like orange polish; but I love it! It's such a bright and happy colour! This is called Tripped Up Tango and it is a kind of red-orange hybrid, that I did not know even existed in the colour universe! I love how bright and unique it is, it really pops off the nail (not literally, though).
The formula on this polish was a really pleasant surprise. It went on to the nail very smoothly and was quite opaque as well. Two coats was needed for full coverage. The only thing that I noticed is that it took just a smidge longer than average for this polish to dry, but other than that I was very impressed.
The bottle, while devoid of piglets, was simple and nice. It's not spectacularly pretty or unique, but I like it anyway. The shape of the bottle and the lid are both round as well, adding to the simplicity of the overall look. The front of the bottle is also uncluttered with very little on it other than the logo, name of the polish and amount of polish contained in the bottle. Though, it would be better with the addition of a small cute pig, just my opinion, though.
The most disappointing aspect of this polish is by far the brush. It's tiny! It reminds me of the small Essie brush, it is very similar. It's really a shame about the brush, coz' I otherwise enjoyed this polish.
Overall I really thought that this nail polish was great! I actually own a fair few Mud polishes but I haven't used them yet; after this one I will certainly be digging them out of my draw and giving them a try! The colour on this polish was bright and unique and I greatly enjoyed it as well as the formula which was pleasantly surprising! The brush was the only let down; but who knows, maybe it's a magic brush that grows after you paint your nails with it! I'm really glad that I gave this polish a try; oink oink.
May your nails be good
