Fall/Autumn Diagonal Dot Nail Art Tutorial

Image
Hiya guys! I am so sorry that it has been a while; it's been a number 11 on the business scale of 1 to 10 for me lately, but I'am BACK! As of late I have been longing to do some more fall/autumn nails; y'know, while it's still actually Autumn. As it turns out, I really have no talent for autumn leaf nail art, so I have had to TOTALLY change track.I really wanted to use those key autumn colours for this one; y'know; red...yellow..orange; those colours! So, the very specific colours that I used for these nails were Revlon Red by Revlon, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Teeny Bikini. As you can see, I did 2 of my nails (pinky and pointer) in red and then the middle yellow and ring finger orange. Ok! So, since all the dots are different colours for different bases, I will be doing this tutorial for the red nails, and then I'll adapt it later for the others. To start, grab a medium sized dotting tool and create a diagonal lin...

French Tip Dot Nail Art Tutorial for St Patricks Day

Image
Hey guys! How are you all going? Today I'm really happy to be getting back to a nail art tutorial, it's been ages since I have done one of these because the Top Ten Nail Polishes to Wear this St Patricks Day series was occupying all of my time! I wanted to share a simple and fun nail art tutorial which you can use to showcase some of your favourite shades for St Patricks Day! Oh, and by the way my nails are super yellow in the photos because I did this tutorial after swatching all ten of the polishes on the list, I shoulda' used a french manicure polish underneath or something.....sorry guys! So, I wanted to do this tutorial because I think that dots are sooo much fun! Also, I wanted to showcase some of my favourite shades for St Patricks Day but all in one manicure (this is the best thing for when you can't decide what polish to wear; you can have your polish and wear it too, does that phrase work? If it does I am totally gonna use it again!). In this tutorial I ...

Valentines Day Dotted Heart Nail Art Tutorial

Image
Hello there! How are you doing today? I really, really, really wanted to use a dotting tool in some nail art, I was dying to, I had to! So, I did, and now you can too! These, are like, super easy, and like, super cute! I think the hearts are very sweet and Valentines-ish, or Valentines-y or, err, Valentines-like, why is there no word for this? Oh well, there are three of them now (you're welcome, dictionary)!  These nails are only a two step process, well, three if you count painting on a base colour. I used 'White on' by Sally Hansen, two coats of it! So anyway, pick out a red polish (I used Revlon Red by Revlon) and grab yourself a small dotting tool and make dots to form the shape of a heart on your nail. Now, wash, rinse and repeat! Not literally, please don't do it literally. What I mean is, repeat the above step in a light pink colour to create a heart in a heart (a heart of hearts!). I used Smartease from the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel range f...

Monochrome Dotted Reverse French Tip nails Wrapped in a Ribbon Nail Art Tutorial

Image
Guys! Hello! Welcome to another nail art tutorial! Today I will be teaching you how to do a perfect reverse french tip mani, but were gonna make it real special with monochrome dots and wrap it all up in a pretty pink bow! Are you ready? Let's go! Our fist step in making the perfect reverse french tip is to make an outline so that we can fill it in lately. On a white base coat (I used two coats of Blanc by Essie) take a small nail art brush and with black nail polish create a large oval shape. This doesen't need to be very neat or opaque because it is just an outline and we will be filling it in in just a second! Now, take the brush from your nail polish bottle and fill in the outline to create the reverse french tip look. I find that this method is a lot neater and easier than others that I have seen, where an outline is not used. Remember to go riiiight to the bottom of your outline to get it nice and opaque. The next thing that we're gon...

Abstract Dot Festive Nail Art Tutorial for Christmas

Image
Hello again! How are you all? How are your nails ;)? I had a break on my pointer finger last night. It was a really close call, thank god for nail glue! Anyway, today I bring you some more quick and easy nail art for this Christmas! I thought doing a kinda abstract design would be really fun and unique for a Christmas mani, and I've been experimenting with different design for a while. Finally! Here is the fruit of my labour, a super easy design that anyone can do in three simple steps! The first step is to use a medium sized dotting tool to create a circular pattern with white nails polish. Do 2 to 3 of these on each nail. Next, use a small nail art brush to fill these in in different colours. You may need to do this twice to achieve full opacity. Our third and last step is to fill in the remaining space in a different colour. And, don't forget to top it all off with a nice layer of your fav' top coat. There we have it guys! Abstract Christm...
