Essie 'With the Band' Red Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hellooooo everybody! I am so sorry for my lengthy absence from this blog, I didn't expect to be as busy as I have been over the last 6 months or so. But! Don't  despair! I'm back now and I'm going to try my very ultra-best to update this blog regularly! Anyway, it's almost one of the most exciting times of the year- Christmas time! Are you guys excited? My excitement is at 1000 per cent (which is a lot even for me). So! To get in the Christmas spirit I decided to kick off my return to this blog with a review of a nail polish in one of the most classic Christmas colour of all time- RED! So let's dive in head first very quickly into this review! So, this here is With the Band by ESSIE (You guys know that I love me some Essie)! This here isn't your typical red, it is a touch darker. This colour is not the most unique in the whole entire world but I do think that it's still pretty, especially if you are a fan of reds! While I'm not the biggest fan...

Essie 'It's Genius' Burgandy Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hi guys! I am so sorry for my absence, it's been so long since I have posted anything! I have just been SUPER busy lately and haven't gotten a chance to post. But, anyway I'M BACK! And, even better, I'm back with an Essie polish to swatch and review, isn't that great? Today we will be looking at an Essie polish called It's Genius (sounds like a promising name for a pretty polish!), and upon a quick search, I found this polish is from WAY back in 2008, now, that;'s a way of a ways back, and I am really looking forward to seeing what a polish from back then is like, so let's hop into the swatch and the review guys! \ And there it is, It's Genius (isn't it though?). Anyway, upon first inspection I was not sure what exactly this colour was, at first I thought wine purple, but now I think it's more of a burgundy. The colour also looks slightly different in different lightings, which further added to my confusion when I was trying to figure out...

Teal Nail Polish Comparisons: Essie 'Viva Antigua' vs Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy 'Dealers Choice'

Image
Hi guys! Lately I seem to keep running into nail emergencies! My thumb nail has broken so now it is very, very short and the nail on my ring finger has a break that I have temporarily stuck a false nail over the top of so it doesn't break off completely, but think I am going to try to fix with the teabag/nail glue method (which I have never tried before, so we will see how that goes)! Amongst those devastating nail disasters, I  bring you something else new to this blog, EXTRA DRAMATIC DRUMROLL: A comparison post! Now, in the past I have done comparison posts before, but only in relation to collections. This one here is different, coz it's just two nail polishes that I thought might be similar so I decided to compare them, just for a bit of fun! I shall not delay any further; let's jump right in now and see what we are comparing! There they are! Our subjects of this comparison post; Viva Antigua by Essie and Dealers Choice by Revlon (y'know, the Colorstay Gel Envy ...

Essie 'Buy Me A Cameo' and Profusion 'Gold Rush', Just a Random Manicure

Image
Hi all! Welcome to the very first post in my new series 'Just a Random Manicure'. This series is basically looking at well, random manicures that I am wearing or have worn. We are kicking off this series with my latest mani (it's still on my nails now!) Buy Me a Cameo by Essie topped with Gold Rush by Profusion. I have had this on my nails for about two days so far, but unfortunately because I was treating my nails with oil before I put it on, it is now peeling off. Sigh. But! That matters not because I have really enjoyed this combination, it is beautiful! Because Gold Rush is a holographic, I had a real tough time capturing it in my light-box and had to venture out into the sunshine (well, I don't know that you could say sunshine, it was a really cloudy day) and snap some pictures out there in order to try to capture that holographic. And, I was somewhat successful, you can sort of see the holographic-ness. Sort of... but it's still not that accurate. I had ne...

Essie 'Master Plan' Grey Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hello everyone! Today I think is another special day, coz' it's been a while since I did a swatch and review and also coz' ESSIE! Yep, Essie,  none other than my favourite brand! This is one polish that I picked up while on holidays; in fact I picked up almost 50 nail polish bargains (including, to my delight,  a ton of Essie polishes) on that holiday and I have even swatched and reviewed a few of them , but I have yet to swatch and review an Essie from that haul; which makes me sad! Those poor Essies, sitting in a draw, just crying put to be swatched and reviewed! Well Essies! Your cries will be ignored no longer! It's review-y swatch-y time-y! Here we have Mater Plan by, wanna guess; Essie! This polish is essentially just your average grey nail polish; if I had to make up a name for this shade of grey, I would call it 'grey, grey' coz' it's just a grey, that's all. While it is basic; that's not really a bad thing! Basic colours are the bas...

Essie 'Chinchilly' Grey Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hello everybody! How have you been? It has been a little bit since I have done a swatch and review, mostly because I was doing Valentines posts, but I have some really cool polishes to show you guys, starting with this polish; Chinchilly by my favourite brand, Essie! Chinchilly! Isn't that name just the most adorable thing? It lends itself very well to the colour of this polish as well. The colour is very hard to describe, I wish I could just call it Chinchilla-fur grey, but that won't do! Hmm, let's see.... I guess if I had to label this I would call it a 'cool-purple-toned-grey', there! It has a name! It is probably totally inaccurate, but, y'know, it's something. I guess that my lack of understanding of this colour only goes to show that It's pretty darn unique. I like it! It's very elegant! Now, let's get talkin' bout' that formula! The formula is just a teeny little bit runny, not a lot, just a little. But, overall I didn...
