Just a Random Manicure: Sinful Colors 'Blue La La' with Sally Hansen 'Golden Rule' and Matte Top Coat

Image
Helooooo everyone! How are you today? I am sorry for my lack of presence lately, I have been a busy little bee and now I seem to have picked myself up a cold! But, I am here now with a new instalment of my new series Just a Random Manicure (hey, that's two news!). Since my nails broke really badly (and by really badly, I mean really, really badly), I haven't really been doing anything pretty with them. I took off the false nails that I had on before and have been taking care of them thoroughly, trying to get them to grow back out. I can't remember the last time that they broke SO bad! Anyway, they have grown a bit, so I decided to paint them in celebration! Since it's winter now (brrr, it's cold!), I wanted to do something with blue and since I recently picked up Sinful Colors Blue La La, which I have been after for ages, It was a perfectly perfect opportunity to use it! Ooh, isn't that a pretty colour? I am just in love with this kind of cornflower blue! ...

Comparison: Sally Hansen 'B Girl' and Rimmel 'Breakfast in Bed' Green Nail Polish Comparison

Image
Hi everyone! I am sorry that it has been, like, forever! My workload is kind of crushing me at the moment, and that nail that I tried to fix broke, like real bad. At the moment, I have filed them all down and put a set of false nails over them hoping that they will grow out nice and strong underneath! Anyway, this post is kinda like going back in a time machine (wouldn't it be nice to have an actual time machine?) for me, because it's from a time before my poor little nails broke! I recently picked up a bunch of polishes and as I was going through them (which is the natural thing to do when you get a whole bunch of new polishes), one looked strangely familiar to me. So! Eventually I realised, it reminded me a WHOLE lot of Sally Hansen B Girl. It is the Rimmel polish ' Breakfast in Bed'. Of course, I felt the instant need to compare them, and, well, that's how this post came about! WOW! That Sally Hansen Miracle Gel looks like a giant compared to that teeny litt...

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel 'I Lava You' Pink Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hey guys! How are you going? Today we will be once again be looking at a polish from the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel range! I have REALLY been looking forward to trying out this polish! And that is because I have a long history with this polish; I once saw it when I was on holidays and I was drawn to it like a magnet, I thought 'Ooh! Pretty polish! I like it',  and then I saw it again a few months later (a few weeks ago)  in the clearance bin (aka the best bin ever) and snatched it up for a bargain bin price! I was interested in this polish because a) it was pink, and b) it had some really pretty shimmer in there! So! This is I Lava You, by of course, Sally Hansen. This is a peachy pink polish with two kinds of shimmery shimmer; pink and gold. Out of the two shimmers, the gold definitely stands out better, the pink is kinds hiding a little bit; I think that it is because of the already pink base that it doesn't stand out quite as much. But still, it is a really pretty pol...

Sally Hansen 'Red Zin' Red Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hi guys! How's everyone going? Today have been shocked to find out that my nail polishes drawers are getting too full! I hardly have any room any more; disaster has struck! Well, kinda not, an actual disaster has yet to occur polish-wise, but this is indeed a problem! The upside of problems is that there are almost always solutions! And a solution shall be found! Anyway, today we are looking at a polish from the realm of Sally Hansen, specifically from the Complete Salon Manicure range. This polish here is Red Zin. It's a darkened red colour, that I would specifically classify as a garnet red. Well, I ain't the greatest red lover out there, but there is something about a good dark red that I quite like. It's still not my very favourite colour in the world (that would be pink) and I don't know how often that I would wear it, but I still like it! Two words to describe the formula for this polish; absolutely amazing! It goes on to the nail so smoothly and b...

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel 'All Chalked Up' (Easter number 2) Purple Nail polish swatch and Review

Image
Hi everybody! We sure are close to the end of this list , huh (read about said list here )? And Easter is juuuuust around the corner as well, and it is a very short corner, Easter is super close! Right now I have some Easter baking going on as well as some Easter nails (good combination, right?)! I'm pretty excited for these last swatch and reviews, because of course, these are the top two! Today we are looking at another polish from the Miracle Gel range by Sally Hansen, which has got a bunch of things that I really like about it, especially that brush! This polish is called All Chalked Up and it's quite a interesting shade that you may recognise as a close dupe for  Spring Fling , by Sinful Colors. This is pastel purple that is super, super light! It looks almost like it's only just purple; but I love that! It's a very subtle and soft look on the nail which is very unique and very beautiful! Definitely a favourite of mine for Easter as it is a really cool take on...

Sally Hansen 'Skys The Limit' (Easter Number 5) Blue Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hi everybody! This is getting really serious; we are half-way through this series already! Whaaaaat? How come that happened? But it's also pretty exciting, coz' we're getting to the real point end of the list here; this is the top 5 (before I babble on any further I will provide some background information for anyone that is unfamiliar with this series here ).  Only adding to my excitement is the fact that one of my favourite TV shows started airing a new season last night; any more excitement and my computer may explode!Today we will be looking at another nail polish by Sally Hansen, but this time from the complete salon manicure range, which has a base and top coat built right into the polish itself; pretty cool right? This specific polish right here before your eyes is Skys the Limit! This is a Sky blue polish, and I just love shades of blue like this, especially for Easter time, because it's so bright and cheerful! It's like a beautiful clear blue sky! ...

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel 'B-Girl' (Easter number 8) Green Nail polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hi! I'm back today with a brand shiny new instalment of the Top Ten Nail Polishes to Wear this Easter series (all necessary facts are contained here ). We have zoomed past the first two polishes on the list (aka number 10 and number 9 ) so that brings us to the pretty polish 'sittin in place number 8. This polish is from a line that I don't think I have reviewed before; the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel line, so I am definitely looking forward to getting into the swatch and review and sharing my thought with you guys! If you don't know anything about this line of polish, don't worry coz I'll dive right into the specifics later in the review! This is B-Girl by, as you  know, Sally Hansen! Y'know, after St Patricks Day, I didn't think that I would be doing any more green nail polish reviews for a while, well, that didn't happen coz' here I am reviewing another lovely green nail polish! This specific shade of green is is actually a mint green and ...

Sally Hansen 'Green thumb' (St Patricks Day number 3) Green nail polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hiya! Boy, is today an exciting day. Well, my nail broke again last night, so that's not exciting (AT ALL!) but I am not concentrating on that; I'm thinking about the fact that we are in the TOP THREE! Isn't that exciting? I'm right to be excited, aren't I? This list is so full of green nail polishes that I don't think that you guys will want to see another green nail polish swatched for about a year (cough cough, next St Patricks Day, cough),  but the upside is that they are all really amazing polishes to wear for St Patricks Day, so I hope that list has given you some nail-inspiration! Anyway, I thought it would be nice to have a little emotional spiel here given that we are in the top three now, but I'll get into the swatch and review not; no more rambling, I promise! Oh, and if you don't know what this list is, click here for all the info you need! This polish is called Green Thumb and it is also from the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear range (if you d...

Sally Hansen 'Mint Sorbet' (St Patricks Day number 6) Green nail polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hi guys! Number six, huh! Are you guys enjoying this series ? I sure hope that you are? Today I am sharing with you one brand (and line in particular) that I love; Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear! I love this line of polish because it is so consistently good and so consistently p-r-e-t-t-y! This polish I picked up a while ago and fell in love with the subtle and beautiful colour. I'ma now not say too much and give it all away and hop into the review and swatch with rabbit like agility (get it, coz' rabbits hop)! This polish is called Mint Sorbet and it's from the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear range ( but you knew that already, coz' I've got a big mouth and couldn't help mentioning that already). The colour is very subtle; it is a light green, but it almost looks white, as if the base is a white with only a lil' bit of green thrown in there. It's so cute and subtle and it's pretty, and innit that a good thing? Also, I think it's unique! You don't s...

Sally Hansen Triple Shine "Pixie Slicks" Pink Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hello again everybody! Today I review my first Sally Hansen polish from the Triple Shine range. I wanted to do a swatch and review of something pink and pretty, because Valentines Day is coming up and this seemed perfect, so let's get into it. By the way, if you are looking for some pretty polishes for Valentines Day you can find some here . There it is, our pretty pink polish! This is called 'Pixie Slicks', it is a peachy-pink (is that a thing?) colour and wow, it is SHINY! But (damn I hate that word when it comes to pretty polishes) it takes a shocking four coats to build this nail polish to full opacity. GASP, there's a plot twist for ya'. I did a thin first coat and then three thick coats to build it up. Yep, shocking, I know. I also found the formula to be a little bit thin and runny. I have a fair few of these Triple Shine polishes, but I have never tried any of them before, so I am not sure how they perform in comparison to this.  Ooh! A rare pict...

Sally Hansen Pixel Perfect Topper Swatch and Review

Image
Hello everybody! Whats'a goin' on? I don't think that I have mentioned this before, but I LOVE toppers, they are one of my favourite things to collect! This is a topper that I bought while I was on vacation, I was really excited to try it because I have never tried a topper from Sally Hansen. This is called Pixel Perfect. This topper is packed full of different kinds of matte glitties (that's how I say glitter sometimes); there are larger hex glitties in both white and black as well as smaller black and white hex glitties. There are also teeny tiny little round glitties in black and white and large black bar glitties. While I am not a fan of bar glitters, I think that in this topper it pulls everything together really nicely. I also enjoyed all these different elements, it makes it very interesting to look at, and it's not too much, a really good balance.  There! Now you can admire all the elements inside this polish! Unfortunately it is really h...

Sally Hansen Color Foil (Chrome) 'Rose Copper' Swatch and Review

Image
Hey guys! What's going on? Today I bring you another swatch and review for a Sally Hansen nail polish. I love the way that there are sooo many different finishes, bottles, brushes and lines of nail polish which Sally Hansen creates. I think they really push the bottle (get it?) when it comes to releasing different lines of polishes. Today I will be reviewing a great example of this, Rose Copper from the Color Foil range. Mmh, look at that shiny, foily, chromey goodness! And I think that I just invented two new words! As far as I can tell, there isn't much nail polish on the market that has a finish similar to this. That's why I just love this. The coverage is really awesome, it was practically opaque in one coat, but I felt that I could see just a teeny lil' bit of nail line at some angles, so two coats is shown. Oh, also it dries super fast, like, super fast! The colour is called 'Rose Copper', but I think it's pretty much just a straight up rose gol...

Sally Hansen Satin Glam Sun Sheen Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Image
Hello guys! Merry Christmas to you all! I hope that your special xmas day is amazing and filled with beutiful memories! On this holiday, I bring you a swatch and review of another polish that I recently acquired. This package arrived yesterday and I wanted to share with you all this fantastic nail polish! This is Sun Sheen from the Sally Hansen Satin Glam collection! I am a total orange lover, but I think that even if your not, you'd still love this polish because it's packed full of sparkes. One thing that I noticed is that it takes AGES to dry if you work in thick coats, the best way to work with this polish is to do two thin coats, like, as thin as possible. The polish dries to a satin matte finish, but you can still clearly see all the shimmer and sparkle in there! Some polishes with any kind of matte finish can be very difficult to work with, but this goes on smoothly.  If this finish isn't your cuppa tea, just slap a coat of top coat on there and badda-bing-badd...
