Sinful Colours New Shades 2019 Collection Comparison Post

Hi again everybody! I am here today with the second part of my Sinful Colours New Shades 2019 collection review which is a comparison post! In this post, I will be doing comparisons for each nail  polish in the collection as well as including some extra swatch photos for each polish! Y'know what, I have never done a full post dedicated to comparisons before so I am excited! It was really interesting to see which polishes had more dupes and which polishes were hard to find dupes for, some were a lot harder to find dupes for than I was expecting. Oh! And in case you missed the swatch and review of this collection, you can read that post here. Now, It's time to compare some polishes!

For this post we will be going in the same order of polishes as the swatch and review, y'know, just to make it easy to follow. Today we are starting with the first polish that I swatched and reviewed in the collection; Spring Fling. As you can see, this is a very pale purple colour.

So! Here are the 2 polishes that I will be comparing to Spring Fling (first polish):  another Sinful Colours polish, Lie-lac, (furthest polish) and Sally Hansen Miracle Gel All Chalked Up (middle polish).

Y'know, as I swatching Spring Fling, the colour felt so oddly familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on what it reminded me of until I was rummaging around looking for comparison polishes and found All Chalked Up! The two are pretty similar, but All Chalked Up is juuust a touch more purpl-y than Spring Fling. On the other hand (or finger, really) Lie-Lac is a different colour completely, it's more of a true lilac shade and isn't in the dupe range at all compared to Spring Fling.

.

The next polish issssss; Violet Riot! This is a violet coloured creme polish, it's super vibrant; it's vibrant violet!

And today, there is but one nail polish we will be comparing this to; A Splash of Grenadine by Essie.

So, as you can see these polishes are very, very, very similar. A Splash of Grenadine is slightly more pink than Violet Riot, but there have been times when I looked at this photo and though that it was only one colour, not two.

Our next polish is Hot Toffee; a caramel brown colour.

And the polishes we will be comparing to Hot Toffee (middle polish) will be drumroll.....OPI Chocolate Moose (first polish) and Borjois Taupe Classy (furthest polish)

Annnnd; that's what they look like side by side! Hot Toffee and Chocolate Moose (Mmmmh, what a delicious sounding combo!) look pretty similar but I must say that my camera did not capture the colour quite so well as it is a little darker in real life, so the two polishes actually look different on the nail. Taupe Classy is also a different shade of brown to Hot Toffee.

This is one of the darker shades in the collection; Street Legal, A super dark grey that almost looks black.

For the comparison we will be looking at Street Legal (middle polish) vs Essie Wicked (first polish) vs Essie Bobbing for Baubles (furthest polish).

Street Legal and Wicked are also very similar, though I would say that Wicked is more brown-toned than Street Legal. Bobbing for Baubles is similar in colour tone but overall a different colour altogether.

This is All Jokes Acai'd a boysenberry coloured polish (mmh, more delicious name combos).

Interestingly enough; I will be comparing this polish to another polish from this very collection; Raisin the Roof (furthest polish) and also Wine Stain by Covergirl (Middle polish).

As you can see All Jokes Acia'd and Raisin the Roof are actually similar. I mean, they ain't the exact same polish, but tonally they are similar. Raisin the Roof is more red-toned though and it is actually more similar to Wine Stain than All Jokes Acai'd is.

Ooh! There is one of my favourites from the collection; the dark blue polish un-aptly named Show and Teal.

There they are! Our comparison polishes; Endless Blue by Sinful Colors (first polish), Fish Teal Braid by Sally Hansen (furthest polish) and of course Show and Teal (middle polish).

Showing us that Show and Teal is not actually a teal is Fish Teal Braid, which is a completely different colour to Show and Teal. They are not similar in the least. The same can be said for Endless Blue, which is a much brighter colour than Show and Teal.

Wow! Guys! We are getting so close to the end! Anyway, this is Raisin the Roof, a colour that I can't really describe, but It's like a purple-toned Ox-blood red kind of thing.

So, because this polish does have red-tones in it, I decided to focus on red polishes for comparison. Candy Apple by Maybelline Color Show (first polish) and Red-Zin by Sally Hansen (furthest polish) are the polish being used for comparison to Raisin the Roof (middle polish).

Raisin the Roof and Reds-zin are fairly similar, although Raisin the Roof is a lot more purple toned than Red-Zin. Candy Apply is much too bright to compare to Raisin the Roof.

Last up is the glitter topper; Holo Back. This is shown over Spring Fling.

To compare against this topper we will be looking at another holographic topper, Holographic Pearls by Revlon (furthest polish).

Both of these toppers are layered over Bobbing For Baubles by Essie. Holographic Pearls is made up of one size if small glitter whereas Holo Back is made up of two sizes of glitter.

That is it for comparisons everybody! I was surprised by the amount of dupes that I found! I feel like the most similar polishes were Violet Riot and Essie A Splash of Grenadine. But, I was surprised at how difficult it was to find dupes for some of these! Especially All jokes Acai'd and Show and Teal! This is all for this Sinful Colours collection, but please look forward to the next one!
May your nails be good
Gabby
