Hearts and Stripes French Tip and Reverse French tip Nail Art Tutorial for Valentines Day
Hiya! What's on and going, everybody? Are you looking forwards to Valentines day? If so, I have the nails for YOU! These were so much fun to do, and they make use french tips in multiple positions! The base colour that I used for these was Sally Hansen's Rose Copper from the Color Foil Range. It's such a pretty colour for valentines day, sooo pretty~! Now, are you ready to get this art on your nails?
Look~at~those~hearts!
First off, we are going to apply our striping tape. You will need about five pieces. Start by placing one piece in the centre and then place the other pieces so that they line up evenly. One tip I got for you guys is to use your cuticle nippers to place the striping tape on your nail, you can use them like tweezers. For more tips on using striping tape you may like to read this blog post.
Next, paint over the striping tape in a gold nail polish, then quickly proceed to the next step. The gold polish that I used is Gold Medal from Sinful Colors.
Now, quickly peel off the striping tape to reveal your pretty gold and pink stripes.
Next, go over the tip of your nail in white nail polish with the brush from your nail polish to achieve a french tip look. I did this twice for full opacity.
Using a dotting tool create a heart in red nail polish on your french tip line. To do this with a dotting tool, make a dot and pull it downwards then make another dot and pull it downwards, then connect the two. Alternatively you can just draw a heart using a small nail art brush.
The last step for this nail is to add stripes to the french tip area. Use a small nail art brush to paint small stripes so that they continue onwards from the stripes on the nail.
On the next nail (the middle finger) use the above method to create gold stripes, then use a dotting tool to create a red heart.
On the ring finger we are going to do a reverse french tip! For more information on reverse french tips read this tutorial. First create an oval shapes outline in gold.
Next, fill in the outline using the brush from your nail polish bottle.
We are now going to add stripes to the reverse french tip. First, lay the striping tape.
Then, paint over the striping tape in the colour of the base.
Now quickly peel off the tape!
Outline the striped area in black using a small nail art brush.
Lastly, add a heart using a dotting tool.
On our last finger, we are going to do a half-moon design. To do this use the brush from your nail polish bottle and wipe it over the end of your nail.
Outline the half-moon shape in black.
Add gold stripes to the half-moon, continuing them from the stripes on the nail.
Lastly finish your nails with a red heart! And there we go, all done!
Aren't these cute and lovely? I think that the combination of the finishes of these nail polishes looks really pretty and romantic! Stripes + hearts + tips, tips, tips! Sounds cute, right?
